Mirella started dancing at a young age. Her first steps were in ballet and street dance. When she decided to become a professional dancer, she was accepted at the Albeda Danscollege in Rotterdam.

During her four-year training, she developed in various dance styles, including ballet, modern, jazz, afro, and urban/pop. After graduating in 2011, her professional dance career began. She danced in films and dinner shows, as a background dancer for various artists, and during major events.

In the end, Mirella found her passion in partnering and focused entirely on the Argentine tango.

Carlos and Mirella have now been together for over 14 years and married for 9 years. Together they not only share their lives, but also their passion for dance.

Their motto:

“As a dancer, you never stop learning.”

For Carlos & Mirella, professionalism means constantly developing oneself. Every year, they travel to Buenos Aires to train intensively and study with various renowned tango maestros.

Their dance is characterized by elegance, subtlety, musicality and a strong connection, combined with spectacular and breathtaking performances.

As teachers, they also form a strong team. Their lessons are professional and well-structured, but at the same time personal, relaxed, and full of humor. With their natural teaching style, they know how to inspire and motivate students of different levels.

The Netherlands at the World Championship
Carlos & Mirella have represented the Netherlands for many years at the World Tango Championships in Buenos Aires.

In 2016 they became the first Dutch couple to reach the final of the World Championships. Since then they have qualified for the final a whopping seven times:

A remarkable achievement, given that only a limited number of couples from the hundreds of participants ultimately reach the final.
